A few weeks ago I was able to attend Horse Sales Australia Auction Day. With over 20 categories from warmbloods, pleasure horses, weanlings, performance, stock horses and more to look at it was a great day. Only two horses got bid on which where Rolex and Butterfly, I heard most of the other horses where sold in private. Here are some photos of the day, sorry about the colours arena lighting is just horrible!

Learning Lessons

So I have been very slowly working on my Arabian costume. I mean snails could travel the circumference of the earth before I'm finished it. I have been very slow working on all my projects. I have not finished one thing that I have started since January :( .

So my problem is I want everything perfect, I want everything 100% all the time. Which is a little crazy, I'm still just starting out. I have only painted 10 or so horses and never made a costume before. I need to cut myself a break, remember that I will make mistakes and thats alright its all learning!

Costume to date, no pattern just winging it.

Tassels! Over 75 and still more to make!

Hard to keep on track when resins show up needing stripping.

P.S Congrats to all the winners at NAN and have fun to all the people lucky enough going to Breyerfest! Wish I could have gone.

Update

Still going crazy painting hairs on my appaloosa. Just started the left side, in grey then I will slowly build up to white. This ads depth to the coat (well hopefully), first time painting this way in Acrylic paints.

Right side nearly done, can't wait to finish this girl, neither can my cramped hands!

Acrylic paints dry out very quickly, so keeping them useable requires wet paper towel and then baking paper over the top. The baking paper keeps the paint from soaking into the paper towel. I got this tip from someone else's blog, I can't remember who but thank you it has been most helpful!
